Dear Parents/Guardians, Walter Douglas loves the month of February! This month is full of celebrations, traditions, and events that focus on reading. February is Love of Reading month. Our school goal is to show how much fun reading is. We celebrate it from February 8th through February 12th. During that week, you will see many guest readers at our school. We also celebrate Valentine’s Day on February 12th. Grade-levels will plan age appropriate celebrations where students will be able to exchange cards and treats. Please remember that if you chose to bring in treats for your child’s classroom, they must be store bought and in the original package. The other event that we celebrate in February is La Fiesta De Los Vaqueros Rodeo and parade on February 25th and 26th. School will not be in session those days. There is one more thing that I would like to ask your help with. If you would like to donate sanitizer, Kleenex, Ziploc bags, snacks and other school supplies, please send them to the office or call your child’s teacher. Thank you again for all you do.
