Our PTO

"The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization is the best way for our school's parents to interact with their child's teachers. We strive to foster those relationships and create a sense of community between our staff and our parents through projects, scholarships, goal-sharing, and open communication." John Mussulman, PTO President

The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has grown over time to form a collaborative relationship in support of our students. This connection is bolstered by a unifying goal to raise funds, make improvements, and support school initiatives deemed appropriate and necessary to the functions of the school. Comprised of PTO officers, parents, administrators, a teacher representative from each grade level, support staff members, and a Spanish translator, the PTO meets monthly to discuss school priorities and initiate fundraising efforts. Our PTO Meetings take place the first Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. in room 29. We hope to see you there!

A Note From Our PTO President

Hello friends, and welcome to April! I hope you all had a great Spring Break and are well rested, because April is going to be a surprisingly busy month. WE NEED YOUR HELP. This is an
Official all-hands-on-deck month for your school PTO! As we wind down the year, we are approaching the limit of our budget. At the end of last year, we said we would raise about $14,000 for Walter Douglas students and staff this year. Well, we are in genuine danger of missing that mark. Fortunately, we have one more big event left to do, and it's happening on Friday 4/20: the BULLDOG COLOR RUN.
Now, in the past we had a Fun Run, which consisted of an obstacle course, with students taking donations per lap. This year, to mix it up, we are trying our first ever Color Run! Hopefully, by now you've seen the flyers. We will need parent volunteers for the event (remember, only parents and registered volunteers can volunteer) As I write this, there are still some details we're working out, like the times and group sizes. We will be sorting all of that out and more at our APRIL MEETING, which is on campus APRIL 4 AT 2:30. I'm really hoping a lot of people show up, we need your input and involvement. We always have childcare and translation available for the meetings, and they're generally quick! Average meetings are a half an hour! Anyways. I really, really, really hope to see you there, and then again for the Color Run. Until then!
