"The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization is the best way for our school's parents to interact with their child's teachers. We strive to foster those relationships and create a sense of community between our staff and our parents through projects, scholarships, goal-sharing, and open communication." John Mussulman, PTO President

The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has grown over time to form a collaborative relationship in support of our students. This connection is bolstered by a unifying goal to raise funds, make improvements, and support school initiatives deemed appropriate and necessary to the functions of the school. Comprised of PTO officers, parents, administrators, a teacher representative from each grade level, support staff members, and a Spanish translator, the PTO meets monthly to discuss school priorities and initiate fundraising efforts. Our PTO Meetings take place the first Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. in room 1. We hope to see you there!

A Note From Our PTO President

Okay there, that should be good. Hi everyone! Welcome, you’re all welcome here. Welcome! Welcome to the 2017-2018... wait... 2018-2019 Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization blurb! My name is John Mussulman, I am the PTO President. This is the spot in the newsletter where you can catch up on what we’re doing, why we’re doing what we do, and when things happen. First, some introductions: Our Vice President is Sarah de la Cruz. Sarah has been with the PTO... 5 years? Might be 6. Our Treasurer is Rosa Gallegos. This is Rosa’s second year with the PTO. Our Secretary is Ashley Switalski. Ashley has been with the PTO for 5 years (again, it might be 6!) and this is my seventh year here. Wow.
By now you’ve seen our first fundraiser packet go out. As a reminder, those Believe Kids order forms and funds are due on
Friday, September 7th.
We are the main support group for the staff and students. We do fundraisers all year in order to help our school be the best it can be. We’re fun, hard working, talented people. We are ALWAYS looking for more help though! Come join us at our first meeting: Wednesday, 9/5, 2:30 p.m. in room 1. We provide childcare and translation, the meetings are fast and fast paced. They’re fun. Honest! You’ll see. Because you’ll be there, right? Of course you will. You love your student and want to help their school experience be great. We’ll see you there. Call me when you have a question: 520-668-6922.
