"The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization is the best way for our school's parents to interact with their child's teachers. We strive to foster those relationships and create a sense of community between our staff and our parents through projects, scholarships, goal-sharing, and open communication." John Mussulman, PTO President

The Walter Douglas Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) has grown over time to form a collaborative relationship in support of our students. This connection is bolstered by a unifying goal to raise funds, make improvements, and support school initiatives deemed appropriate and necessary to the functions of the school. Comprised of PTO officers, parents, administrators, a teacher representative from each grade level, support staff members, and a Spanish translator, the PTO meets monthly to discuss school priorities and initiate fundraising efforts. Our PTO Meetings take place the first Wednesday of every month at 2:30 p.m. in room 1. We hope to see you there!

A Note From Our PTO President

Hello Bulldog family! Welcome to March. March is my favorite month is also a verb! February, while not a verb, was a busy month. Let's recap last month before we talk about this month. Ready? Okay. Me too.

Last month we held our biggest event of the year, the Bulldog Color Run. It is our most expensive fundraiser to put on, and takes the most planning and the most volunteers and the most work and the most everything. It's worth it though, the kids and staff (and some of you parents!) really had a blast. I'm so proud to help make it happen. What a joy all of you are. Thank you again to our volunteers. Also last month we had Love of Reading week- I got to read to 3 classes. Of everything I've gotten to do because of the PTO, reading to kids is my favorite. Even more fun than getting dunked in the dunk tank, more fun than wearing a dinosaur costume and smacking Ms. McAllister with a pool noodle. Reading to kids is the most fun. Thanks for a fun February, PTO.

Speaking of dinosaurs... March 1 is the Festival Under the Stars over at Flowing Wells H.S. This district wide carnival is super cool-come hang out with us and get into a brawl with a dinosaur. Uh, not a real dinosaur, they are extinct. It will be a person in an inflatable dinosaur costume. No dinosaurs will be there to eat you. Also, later this month we will be sending home popcorn catalogs from Double Good Fundraising. We get 50% of each sale, so it would be awesome if everyone sold 2 items. Or 100. Or anywhere between!

Okay I guess that'll do it for this month's note. You're all very kind and good and smart and talented and good looking and smell great. Keep up the good work that you do!
